Google has just released Chrome version 86.0.4240.75 for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This version addresses vulnerabilities that an attacker could exploit to take control of an affected system.
DRS encourages users and administrators to apply the necessary changes, by updating Chrome as per the following steps:

1. Open Chrome and navigate to settings by clicking on the three dots on the right-hand side of the browser:

How to change Chrome Settings

Alternatively, you can access the settings through the URL bar by typing chrome://settings:

Enter chrome settings through the URL bar

2. Select “Safety check” in the left-hand side menu, then “Check now”:

Chrome enable Safety Check

and then

Chrome Safety check enabled with Check Now

3. Should Chrome require an update, it will be automatically initiated, and an “Updating Google Chrome” message will appear, followed by a prompt to relaunch Chrome to finish updating:

Updating Google Chrome

and then

Relaunch Google Chrome following the update

When Chrome reopens, all updates will be applied, and the browser will be safe to use.
